Hello, I’m Daniel Seven, a nascent writer living in the rain-slicked Pacific northwest. When I’m not writing, I love video games, reading, tabletop RPGs, board games, watching TV / movies and listening to music. I spent the last twenty years or so being a professional office drone and I’d still be at it if things hadn’t fallen apart. I decided that I couldn’t pass up this opportunity to go freelance. I’d live to regret it if I didn’t.
Most writers will tell you they grew up dreaming about becoming a writer. I didn’t. I was just a creative type who tried a lot of hobbies to fill the void; the creative urge. I was never good at English in school and assigned reading temporarily killed my interest in books. It wasn’t until I started building my own role playing game that I revisited writing. The closer I got to finishing it, the more I realized I didn’t really care about the game. Too much work that I didn’t want to deal with. The world and backstory, though, that made me want to keep writing. That began in 2014, and since then I’ve been slowly improving my skills. Now I’m trying my best to be a professional independent author.
Most of what I plan to write is science fiction and fantasy and the things that don’t fit cleanly in those categories have strong undertones. I’m at my happiest when laser beams fly, giant mechs clash and robots claim sentience. When magicians sling spells, factions fight over artifacts of power and heroes stand against dark lords. If that’s your thing, you might want to keep tabs on me.
